What is Posse?

Posse inspires your inner music promoter and allows you to get paid for your talents.

Think about the last gig you went to, or the last CD you bought. What made you do it? Was it a trusted friend, or a half-torn street poster or one of those five second radio ads where you can't even work out which song they've sampled? Our research suggests that 82% of people who go to shows or buy music products find out about them through friends, which means that you and your crew are actually the ones doing the successful promotion work and not getting paid for it. Until now.

Posse has partnered with top music artists who feel it's time the fans get their dues. Their promoters have also come to the party and set aside budgets normally spent on traditional forms of advertising to pay those who are bringing in their biggest crowds - you.

Posse is totally free to use. Shows are offered in the US, UK and Australia, and if you're over 14 and want to get involved you can quickly set up an account.

How it works

1. Sign up to Posse (for free - and you can even do so through your Facebook account to make it easier!)
2. Add your favorite artists to your profile
3. Add the Facebook and MySpace apps, or publish your RSS feed or our HTML widget on your website, blog or anywhere else your friends visit online (tattooing the link on their foreheads not recommended - painful and the link won't work)
4. Your unique link for promoting events, CDs and downloads then gets broadcast to all your friends. This link will take them directly to the official ticket retailer (for example, Ticketmaster) and you earn a commission if they buy something!
   Our research whizzes have found that the most effective way to promote music is through Facebook or MySpace via the apps, which can accessed from your profile page.

Then, tell your friends!

Each time someone clicks through your ad or link and purchases a ticket, download or a CD, you'll earn a commission. Once you reach $5 in commissions, you can choose to have these paid into your Paypal account, or soon you will be able to donate to your or your favorite artist’s charity, or even exchange for really cool merch in our rewards store!

Some artists also offer prizes for the top seller on a tour, or to the top seller for a particular show. Keep an eye on specific event details for these extra bonuses.
