frequently asked questions
What is posse all about?
On Posse you can support your favourite artists and earn amazing rewards.
Connect with artists, events and venues that you are passionate about by joining their posse.
Win rewards by completing quests they create. Quests can be activities like sharing a link to their latest video on Youtube or promoting their tour on Facebook.
Rewards range from increasing your Posse ranking to money-can't-buy experiences like hanging backstage with the band!
You love their music. Share the love, help your favourite artists and reap the rewards.
On Posse everyone wins - fans and artists!
How do I join a posse?
Simply search or browse for your favourite artists, venues or events, and click the big green "join" button.
All posses are currently open to join, but get in quick - in the future some posses will be quite exclusive.
What are Quests?
Quests are activities you complete to win rewards and help your favourite artists. Quests might involve sharing links to support the launch of their new album, selling tickets to support a tour, or sharing your passion for them with the rest of the world.
Every Quest comes with a reward selected by the artist. Rewards can be anything - from a higher status on Posse to money-can't-buy experiences like sitting in on the soundcheck or watching a gig from backstage.
How do I complete a Quest?
For most quests you'll get special links to share with your friends. These links are unique to you. When someone buys music, tickets or merchandise via your link it counts towards the completion of your quest.
What do I do with the links?
Share them! You can post them on Facebook, tweet them on Twitter, include them in a blog post (if you have a blog), comment on music sites, message your friends... There are so many ways to spread the word!
What happens to my friend when they click my link?
When your friends click your links they are sent straight to the online retailer to get their music, tickets or merchandise. Posse only partners with trusted brands and sites that the artists themselves use. Sites like Ticketmaster, Moshtix and Eventbrite.
What are points for?
Every quest or promotion completed earns you points, contributing to your status in your posse.
Just as completing quests wins you rewards, collecting points lets your bands and artists know who are their biggest, most active fans. And that brings its own rewards.
How do I collect rewards?
You don't have to do anything!
When you complete a quest we'll tell the artist and they will do the rest. For some rewards, like, say, a special posse-only demo track download, you might receive an email with the secret link straight away. For other rewards, especially money-can't-buy rewards, the artist will contact you via email to work out the details.
If the quest includes commissions for sales, they normally appear in your Posse account a day or two after a sale is made. You can have your commissions paid into a PayPal account or you can donate your dollars to a favourite charity. That really is sharing the love.
Can anyone join?
If you live in the USA, UK or Australia, and are 14 or older, you can sign up and join a posse right now. If you're younger than 14 you’re going to have to wait, but it’s only a matter of time before you can join in the fun.
If you're under 15 then by law you need to have parental consent to promote your passions with Posse. If you’re under 18, you’ll need to collaborate with someone older, such as a parent or guardian, to set up a PayPal account and start receiving your rewards.
Any tips?
Posse is all about sharing the love. As with life, the more passion you do it with, the greater the rewards. Tweet a link, organise a Facebook event, share that magic link with all the friends you can. The more imaginative the better.

How can posse help me?
Posse is Word-Of-Mouth 2.0: stronger, faster and more influential. The fans in your posse are ready and eager to share their passion for you and your music with the world across Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, blogs, email and more.
We provide the tools you need to inspire and direct that passion. Launch campaigns to promote you, your music and shows when and where you need it. Monitor and analyse the results. Discover your biggest fans. Measure the impact they have on your success. Reward them.
What are quests?
Quests are how you organise your fans to direct their social influence where and when you need it most.
Each quest has a goal (share a link, sell a specific number of tickets) and a reward.
Completing a quest always wins your fans some points, and they may receive a commission on sales, but with Posse rewards are limited only by your imagination. You can offer downloads, t-shirts, anything.
Because of the detailed data analysis we provide, you know who your most effective fans are and you can give them real, money-can't-buy rewards - VIP passes, meet and greets. Experiences that they will value, increase their passion, and no doubt broadcast to their social network with more photos, tweets and status updates.
What kinds of quests are there?
Quests are currently divided into sales, social and recruitment.
Sales related quests require that any tickets, music or merchandise must be on offer from one of our partner sites so that we can track all transactions. Partner sites include Moshtix, Oztix, Ticketmaster, TicketFactory, iTunes, eMedia and EventBrite.
For social quests, posse has been designed so your fans can tweet your messages or post them to Facebook directly from your quest's page. We also provide links for inclusion in emails and blog, Tumblr and Posterous posts.
Recruitment quests are all about growing your posse to expand your reach across the social networks. They work just like social quests, but are more targeted.
How do I reward my fans?
Posse takes care of the simple cases - awarding points, distributing commissions. We provide an interface where you can track and distribute other rewards - links to downloads, t-shirts, tickets, etc. These, and other arrangements you might have to make for money-can't-buy rewards are handled by you over email directly with your fans.
Posse does not monitor or enforce fulfillment of rewards - your fans do.
What’s the best way to use posse?
Posse is going to become an essential part of the day-to-day marketing process. Why tweet when you can set a quest?
By regularly assigning quests you can keep your fans engaged and their extended social network aware and informed of your activities.
Quests can be simple - asking them to tweet your links, drive traffic to your Facebook, Soundcloud, Bandcamp and Youtube pages.
Through consistent communication and quests for your posse you expand your reach and influence through their social networks.
But don't let it get boring. Do feature quests with money-can't-buy rewards - exciting experiences for your fans that will inspire their passion for you and generate more online traffic of its own.
Which retailers does posse partner with?
We have arrangements with the major ticketing and online music brands. This includes Moshtix, Oztix, Ticketmaster, TicketFactory, iTunes, eMedia.
We have also partnered with Eventbrite, so any artist, any band, can handle their own events and provide tickets for promotion through Posse.
This is just the beginning. We have more in the works and our partner list keeps growing.
